Why is a SIM card required to use the Mobitron IoT devices?

Majority of Mobitron devices utilize reliable cellular networks, to give end customers the ability to locate assets on demand. In order to achieve this, connectivity an active SIM card is required.

How is the Mobitron IoT devices different from Bluetooth 4.0 (BTE 4.0) products?

The Mobitron IoT trackers is a system that uses innovative GPS and cellular supported technology to enable you to locate and view where your asset is at any time and alert you if your asset leaves a pre-defined zone i.e. home.

Bluetooth 4.0 beacons operate based on proximity to Apple iOS or Android phones users in the range of 50-100 feet, equipped with the applicable mobile app. Therefore, if the Bluetooth beacon is not within the range of IOS or Android phone user, which has the applicable app downloaded to communicate with the beacon, location data will not be available.

Where Do Mobitron IoT devices currently operate?

Currently, the Mobitron IoT devices are sold only in Canada and operates on Canada’s most reliable cellular networks i.e.- Rogers Wireless, Telus and Bell Mobility Networks. Networks in global markets will be leverage as new distributors are implemented.
